when i went to the garden this morning to water the veggies, i took my camera along .. hoping i'd see yesterday's dragonfly and could get a photo of it. that was without doubt the most awesome dragonfly i've seen!... its body was a luminescent mid-blue, with a head that was Mediterranean turquoise and transparent wings with a black dot on each, like WOW! today i saw this beauty. i wonder why they so often perch on sticks...
wherein you will find ramblings about fiber dyeing, spinning, knitting,... and photos (sometimes), family and friend updates, rants when i need to, lack of upper case letters, weird punctuation and freedom of expression (especially mine)! To answer the question of where did it come from... this "twisted mom/twisted sandy" thing. ...during the 90's a group of my spinning students became spinning friends, which morphed into Twisted Sisters, which evolved into calling me the Twisted Mom.

Just recently we watched a dragonfly land on a stick in our garden. It aligned it's body with the stick so that only the transparent wings stuck out, and they were nearly invisible, because the dragonfly was on the far side of the stick. It then proceeded to crawl around the stick, keeping it's body close and parallel to the stick. Every now and then it would peek around the stick. Looked like a hide and seek mission. We figured this was how it hid from its prey.
